Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Yatzy Crown mobile application and web service ("the Service"), developed and operated by Witzora ("we," "us," or "our"), based in Sweden.

By downloading, installing, or using Yatzy Crown, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the complete agreement between you and Witzora regarding your use of the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Yatzy Crown. In jurisdictions where the minimum age for consenting to data processing is higher (for example, 16 in Germany and the Netherlands), you must meet that age requirement or have your parent or guardian's consent.

By using the Service, you confirm that you meet the applicable age requirement in your jurisdiction.

3. Account Registration

To access multiplayer features, statistics, and social features, you need to create an account using Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, or email/password registration. You agree to:

• Provide accurate registration information
• Choose an appropriate display name (see Section 6 on content moderation)
• Maintain the security of your account
• Notify us promptly of any unauthorized access to your account
• Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
• Use only one account per person

Local (offline) gameplay is available without an account.

4. The Service

Yatzy Crown is a digital dice game that allows you to:

• Play Yatzy games locally (single device) or online with other players
• Track game statistics and progress
• Participate in leaderboards
• Connect with friends and other players
• Access various game modes

4.1 Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, update, or discontinue features with or without notice.

For EU consumers: This does not affect your statutory rights regarding digital content quality under the EU Digital Content Directive (Directive 2019/770). If the Service does not conform to what was agreed, you have the right to have it brought into conformity.

4.2 Updates

We may release updates that change functionality, fix bugs, or add features. Some updates may be required to continue using the Service.

5. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or harm other players
• Use offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate display names
• Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, decompile, or exploit the Service
• Create multiple accounts to gain unfair advantages
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to play games
• Interfere with other players' enjoyment of the game
• Deliberately manipulate game statistics or leaderboards
• Share another person's personal information without their consent
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

Violation of these rules may result in content removal, account suspension, or account termination (see Section 8).

6. Content Moderation

6.1 Display Names

Display names are subject to automated and manual moderation. Names that are offensive, discriminatory, impersonate others, or violate our guidelines will be rejected or removed. We also reserve the right to change a display name that violates our guidelines. If we change your display name, you will be notified and may choose a new appropriate name.

6.2 Reporting

If you encounter inappropriate behavior or content, you can report it through the in-app feedback system. We review all reports and take appropriate action.

6.3 Transparency

If we take moderation action on your account (content removal, suspension, or termination), we will provide:

• A clear explanation of the reason for the action
• Information about which rule was violated
• How to contact us if you believe the action was in error

This is in accordance with the EU Digital Services Act requirements for transparency in content moderation.

7. Intellectual Property

The Yatzy Crown application, including its design, code, graphics, sounds, and content, is owned by Witzora and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the app or its content
• Remove or alter any copyright or trademark notices
• Use Witzora's trademarks without written permission
• Create derivative works based on our content
• Sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service

Your display name and any content you create within the app remain yours, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display it within the Service (for example, on leaderboards and in multiplayer games).

8. Account Suspension and Termination

8.1 By You

You may delete your account at any time through Settings → Consent Management → Delete Account. Account deletion has a 7-day grace period during which you can cancel. After 7 days, your account and personal data are permanently deleted (game records are anonymized).

8.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
• Engage in behavior that harms other users
• Attempt to exploit or attack the Service

Due process: Before permanent termination (except in cases of severe violations), we will:

• Notify you of the reason for the action
• Give you an opportunity to address the issue where reasonable
• Explain how to contact us to appeal

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Data handling upon termination follows our Privacy Policy (Section 10 on data retention).

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Witzora shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
• Damages resulting from service interruptions or downtime
• Actions or content of other users
• Any damages exceeding the amount you have paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim

EU Consumer Protection: For users in the EU/EEA, this limitation does not exclude or limit liability for damages caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable EU consumer protection law.

10. Dispute Resolution

10.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict of law principles.

10.2 EU Consumer Rights

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law of your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms deprives you of those protections.

10.3 EU Online Dispute Resolution

If you are a consumer in the EU and have a complaint, you can use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform:

10.4 Informal Resolution

Before pursuing formal legal action, we encourage you to contact us to attempt to resolve disputes amicably. We will make reasonable efforts to address your concerns within 30 days.

11. Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes your statutory consumer rights under applicable law, including but not limited to:

• EU Consumer Rights Directive (Directive 2011/83/EU)
• EU Digital Content Directive (Directive 2019/770)
• National consumer protection laws in your country of residence

11.1 Right of Withdrawal (EU)

If you are an EU consumer, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content purchases. By using the Service immediately upon account creation, you acknowledge that you receive immediate access to a free digital service. For any future paid features, we will present the applicable withdrawal terms at the point of purchase.

12. Future Paid Features

Yatzy Crown is currently free to use and supported by advertising. If we introduce paid features or in-app purchases in the future:

• Prices will be displayed clearly in your local currency
• Payment processing will be handled through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• Refund policies will follow the respective store's guidelines
• We will update these Terms accordingly

13. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using Yatzy Crown, you acknowledge that you have read our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes:

• We will update the "Last updated" date at the top
• For material changes, we will notify you through the app
• Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance

If you do not agree to updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.

15. General Provisions

15.1 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.

15.2 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

15.3 Entire Agreement

These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Witzora regarding the Service, superseding any prior agreements.

15.4 Assignment

We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms. You may not assign yours without our written consent.
